Artist Portraits with One KWE / Kathryn Corbiere

Kathryn and I had been trying to coordinate this project for years. This June, our schedules finally aligned and I got to meet her in her creative space on Manitoulin Island, thrilled for the opportunity to capture her in her element.

As we shot, we got to chatting about the challenges and opportunities that come with being self-employed, and having a creative career. One thing that stuck with me is that she gets to take a break from work and have coffee with her grandfather most mornings, which to me is such a great example of the beautiful parts of being self-employed: having more agency to build your lifestyle.

It was a true pleasure capturing Kathryn, I’m so grateful for the collaboration.
